The Center for Imaging of Neurodegenerative Diseases is a research group focused on investigation of brain changes which occur in normal aging, Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular disease, fronto temporal dementia, lewy body dementia, epilepsy, depression, Parkinson's disease, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Gulf War Illness, and other associated conditions. CIND has two full time research MRI systems: a 1.5 Tesla Siemens Vision MRI/MRS, and a recently acquired 4 Tesla Bruker MRI/MRS. This Center was founded by its Director, Dr. Michael W. Weiner M.D., Professor of Radiology, Medicine, Psychiatry, and Neurology at UCSF. The center has over  $17 million/yr in funding,  approximately 70 faculty and staff, and  occupies a newly renovated 10,000 sq foot building at the VA Medical Center overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. Our Center includes MR physicists who develop new MR pulse sequences, scientists involved with new image reconstruction and image processing techniques, and physicians and cognitive neuroscientists who are applying these state of the art techniques to studies of healthy aging and neurodegenerative diseases.  Positions are available for computer programers, technicians, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty.
