These changes to the Medicare regulations cover billing Medicare for patients who are also on clinical trials, and are effective July 1, 2007. Also, attached please find the related detailed procedures. These documents are being distributed electronically to all PI's with active research account numbers ("ZZ numbers") on the Medical Center billing system. We would appreciate your support of theses new procedures with your PI's. We have tried to minimize the disruption caused by these changes, but we do need to comply with these changes in Medicare regulations. Thank you for your help.
