In Limited Submission Programs, the sponsor restricts the number of applications or proposals a campus can submit to the agency. The guidelines for these programs require institutions to screen pre-proposals or nominations to determine which applications will be submitted for competition. Generally, institutions are allowed to submit one or two proposals or nominations to the sponsor. To determine which of the proposals will be forwarded to the agency, we put together ad hoc committees comprised of campus faculty for each opportunity. The Dean for each school nominated one faculty member to serve on as a Limited Submission Liaison. The Liaison will help us find faculty to apply for limited submission opportunities and faculty to serve on the ad hoc committees. The 2007 Limited Submission Liaisons are: Ken Dill, John Greenspan, Kathy Lee, Geri Padilla and Holly Smith <>- top - Announcing Pacific Rim and Ellison Medical Foundation UCSF Nominees Pacific Rim UCSF nominees competing systemwide Benjamin Hickler Shan Lin Judith Flanagan Shana Harris Karen Finch Shehua Shen Karin Vargervik Tri Do Scott Stonington Wen-Chi Hsueh Ellison Medical Foundation New Scholar Award in Aging - Yuriy Kirichok, Dept of Physiology Congratulations! <>- top - Coming Soon to the Cell Culture Facility The Cell Culture Facility will launch a searchable database of cell lines in stock and available for purchase as frozen vials or growing cultures. To better fulfill this need, the UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management is planning on offering several classes and resources on the subject. In preparation for these offerings, we are conducting a survey to focus the resources available. The information obtained will be used to expand the bioinformatics resources and services the UCSF Library will be offering. In hope for a large participation pool, and to show our appreciation, the survey participants will be able to register to win an Ipod Nano. The url for the survey is located at: <http://tinyurl.com/34g4kp>http://tinyurl.com/34g4kp We appreciate your participation and hope to implement the results in the near future. <>- top - Multicampus Research Collaborations The Office of Research at the University of California, Office of the President continues to make funding available to support the planning, development and initiation of new multicampus research initiatives.
