Accreditation Information

The School of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Contuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education activities for physicians. The UCSF School of Medicine takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of these CME activities.

The UCSF Office of CME designates each of the programs listed here for credit hours in Category 1 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Certificate Program of the California Medical Association (CMA).

As programs accredited for AMA/CMA credit, many of these programs, where indicated, will be accepted toward meeting the continuing education requirements for license renewal of the California Board of Registered Nurses on an hour-for-hour basis.

Many Radiology Postgraduate programs, where indicated, are approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) for ECE points in Category A.

Structured Visiting Fellowship Physician Accreditation

The School of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Contuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education activities for physicians. The UCSF School of Medicine takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of these CME activities.

The UCSF Office of CME designates each of the programs listed here for credit hours in Category 1 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Certificate Program of the California Medical Association (CMA). Each day is typically eight hours.

Structured Visiting Fellowship Programs are designed for practicing radiologists wishing to increase their knowledge and/or skills in a specific field. As such, these programs are not accredited for Nurses, Technologists or Sonographers.

 

Tutorial Visiting Fellowship Physician Accreditation

Tutorial Visiting Fellowship Programs are designed for practicing radiologists wishing to increase their knowledge and/or skills in a specific field through direct observation in a clinical setting. As such, these programs are not accredited for Nurses, Technologists or Sonographers.

 

Visiting Fellowship Technologist Accreditation

The University of California School of Medicine at San Francisco (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

Technologist Accreditation: The Tutorial Fellowships for Technologists are approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) for 8 ECE points for every eight-hour fellowship day completed.

Sonographer Accreditation: The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) recognizes this program for 8 credit hours for each eight-hour fellowship day completed.

 

Videotape Course Accreditation

The School of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Contuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education activities for physicians. The UCSF School of Medicine takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of these CME activities.

As programs accredited for AMA/CMA credit, many of these programs, where indicated, will be accepted by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists toward meeting the continuing education requirements hour-per-credit ECE points in Category A.

Receipt of Category 1 Credit by participating physicians and nurses is optional and will be awarded to individual subscribers for an additional charge of $75.00 per series.

Videotape courses may be rented by hospitals or physicians' groups and optional credit may be awarded to individuals within these groups at $75.00 per person, per series.
