China Basin Service

The outpatient UCSF Imaging Center at China Basin Landing is part of the Medical Center’s effort to offer patients the very best in state-of-the-art imaging technology in an outpatient setting. The Center is located on the first floor of China Basin Landing at 185 Berry Street, adjacent to both Pacific Bell Park and Mission Bay (see Directions). The Center offers the most up-to-date technologies for precise imaging, including:

• One Siemens Biograph Hi-REZ 16-slice PET/CT
• One GE Discovery-VCT 64-slice PET/CT
• GE Hawkeye SPECT/CT
• Two GE 1.5 T MRI scanners
• A state-of-the-art 16-slice Phillips CT scanner
• A high-field GE 3T MR Scanner
• Osteoporosis screening on a Lunar Prodigy bone densitometer

Patients will be offered the first available appointment among the three radiology outpatient locations (Parnassus, Mount Zion and China Basin.) Appointments can be scheduled, Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. through Radiology Central Scheduling, (415) 353-2573.

You and your patients will experience a number of advantages from referring to the China Basin Imaging Center, including same-day appointment availability and on-site, free Valet Parking. In addition, patients will benefit from China Basin’s easy accessibility via Highway 280, the Bay Bridge, an N-Judah Muni Metro stop at our front door and a complementary building shuttle service from BART.

Outpatient radiology services will continue to be offered at the Parnassus and Mount Zion campuses. However, our goal is to better serve your inpatients by taking prompt care of outpatients at China Basin and other UCSF Medical Center outpatient locations. No matter where your patients are treated, you can count on radiology’s usual high standard of care. You also may review the images and reports online from your office by way of the WEBPACS system.
