Subspecialties

Because the Radiology faculty at UCSF is composed of specialists in every area of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, our interpretations of radiology examinations performed here meet the highest possible standards of patient care today. Referrals for unusual and difficult cases are made daily from not only the local community, but also from referring physicians and medical facilities around the world. We enjoy a longstanding reputation for diagnostic accuracy and technological expertise, making us a global leader in radiology.

Furthermore, our fellowship training programs, designed to broaden and enhance the skills and knowledge of the general radiologist, represent the most advanced education in radiologic principles, clinical practice, medical research, and technological application. Through a constellation of state-of-the-art facilities, from the main campus on Parnassus Heights to San Francisco General Hospital, Mt. Zion, and the VA Medical Center, subspecialty training is provided in abdominal imaging, breast imaging, interventional neuroradiology, interventional, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, pediatric radiology, thoracic imaging, and ultrasound.
